In certain cases, you may want to place a masking image on top of an image block. The mask image will be transparent in certain areas. Where the masking image is transparent, the underlying image block will show through the masking image.
This is what the user will see prior to uploading their image.
This is what the user will see after image upload. User can then use permissions granted to fit, pan, zoom and rotate the image.
ΒΆ Prepare image masks
The preparation process for image masks is as follows:
- Create the image mask. The mask image should be a high-resolution image containing an alpha channel that contains transparency.
- Save two versions of the mask image. Both versions do not need to be the same resolution but both should have the same aspect ratio. Both should retain transparency when saving.
- Low-resolution PNG containing transparency.
- High-resolution CMYK TIF containing alpha channel. TIF files can be very large; we recommend saving the TIF image with LZW or JPG compression.
- Upload both the low-resolution and high-resolution mask files into the Designer Server. You should upload the mask to the product and image block where it will applied.
