In the "Default text" fields displayed when editing the template on the Designer server, you will see a checkbox with label "Default text is not included in PDF" as shown below:
When this checkbox is empty, the default text appears in the text edit window AND in the final PDF produced by the Designer as shown below:
When this checkbox is checked, the default text appears in the text edit window but does NOT appear in the final PDF produced by the Designer as shown below:
Rich text governs the ability for use to modify the font characteristics of individual words within a paragraph, independently of the remaining text in a paragraph. Rich Text functions as expected only for text blocks of type "Textflow". Rich Text does not function for text blocks of type "Single-line".
Disabled:
With rich text is disabled, when the user modifies font characteristics such as font face, size, color, bold, italic or underline, the change is applied to all the text in the paragraph.
Enabled:
With rich text is enabled, the user can modify font characteristics such as font face, size, color, bold, italic or underline for each character or word in a paragraph individually.
After the customer selects the image for a given image block, you may want to give the customer additional flexibility to manipulate the image as it is displayed with the block's borders.
Modifying Options for Image Blocks Within Templates
When a template is first displayed in the user-interface, you can determine which image placeholder will be displayed inside each image block. You can select any of these 3 options for the default image placeholder:
When the template is first displayed in the user-interface, the image block will be empty.
When the template is first displayed in the user-interface, the default placeholder defined at the account-level will be displayed.
When the template is first displayed in the user-interface, a specific image from an image gallery will be displayed.
In order to display an image from a gallery, first upload the image into a gallery. After the image is uploaded, the Designer will automatically assign an image ID to the new image. Then enter this image ID into the box in the "Image Source" tab.
In this example below, the Designer has assigned image ID = 13195 to the image uploaded:
Once the image ID of the placeholder image is configured, then this image will be displayed as the placeholder image when the template is first displayed in the user-interface. If the aspect ratio of the placeholder image does not match the aspect ratio of the block, then the placeholder image might be distorted:
For each image block, you can select from 2 choices for the fit method that will be applied to the image:
With the "Meet edge fit", the zoom applied to the uploaded image is adjusted so that the image just touches the edge of the containing image block. With this fit method, all of the uploaded image is visible. The disadvantage of this fit method is that it can leave parts of the containing block as empty white space.
With the "Fill block fit", the zoom applied to the uploaded image is adjusted so that the image completely fills the containing image block. With this fit method, the block is completely filled and there are no white spaces. The disadvantage of this fit method is that parts of the image can be cut-off.
