For certain products, you may not want to display prices online. Nonetheless, you want the product to be displayed like an other product in the shop page and category pages.
wp2print offers a product type called "Quote products". Quote products do not display any price calculators, prices or "Add to cart" buttons. Instead, Quote products display a single Call-to-action button that you can link to quote request form or any other Page in your site. The text of the call-to-action button is configurable as is the redirect URL of the call-to-action button.
Below is the product page of an example Quote product:
Below are images of the same Quote product displayed in the site's Shop page and its containing category page. In these pages, the Quote product is displayed in exactly the same way as other products configured in the store:
The configuration of Quote products is very similar to the configuration of any other products. For each Quote product you create you will upload 1 or more products images and you will assign the product to categories in the normal way.
The only special configuration required is to set the text of the Call-to-action button and the URL of the page to which the user will be redirected when the user clicks the call-to-action button as show below:
With wp2print, you can offer products based on photos uploaded by your customers. Examples of photo products include:
Photo enlargements and posters
Canvas prints
Personalized mousepads
wp2print includes a special photo editor that allows users to adjust the crop of the uploaded photo and then apply a number of different photo filters to further personalize the look of the photo.
In order to offer Photo products, you will need to install and configure the Fotovender Photo Editor plugin. If this plugin is not already installed in your site, then please contact Print Science technical support.
The Fotovender Image Editor plugin has a single configuration page where you will configure the following information:
API URL for the Fotovender server
Authentication Request URL
Email address of your Fotovender server account
Password of your Fotovender server account
An example of the configuration screen is displayed below:
Photo products use the standard product types available in wp2print including: Simple, Fixed-size and Area products. In order to configure a product as a Photo product that uses the Image editor, visit the "File Source" tab and select "Photo Editor" from the File source dropdown.
Once the File source is configured as "Photo Editor", you will see a field where you can configure the productID of the product configured on the Fotovender Image Editor server. Here is an example for a Simple product:
For Fixed-size products and Area products, you will see multiple fields for configuring the productID on the Fotovender Image Editor server. In general, you will see 1 field for each combination of Size and Color you configure for the product. Here is an example for a Fixed-size product:
After an order for a photo product is placed, you will see links to download artwork files in the Order detail page. For Photo products, you will see 2 different download links. The first link allows you do download the output image from the photo editor. This output image displays the cropped and filtered image created by the customer. In addition, you will see a link to download the original image as it was before any crops and filters were applied:
wp2print contains specialized pricing calculators and purchase flows for certain specialized product types including:
With Letter products are signage products where the price is proportional to the number of letters being produced. In wp2print, letter product are fixed-size products where the proportional quality is set to the "Count of Letters". They also contain an extra attribute of type "Text" where the customer can enter the text that will be converted to lettering.
The image below contains a screenshot of the price calculator displayed to a customer for a lettering product. In this case, the price is determined not only by the size, color and material selected but also by the count of letters entered into the field "Lettering text":
Letter products are fixed-size products with the standard attributes of Size, Color and Material. They contain an extra attribute of type "Text" that will hold the text that the customer enters. The major difference between an ordinary fixed-size product and a letter product is that the proportional quality is set to the "Count of Letters". Thus the columns in the printing price matrix contain price for different letter counts.
The steps for creating a letter product are:
EDDM products are configured in the same was as fixed-size products are. However, when creating an EDDM product, instead of selecting "Fixed-size product", you must select "EDDM" as shown below:
For EDDM products, there is extra configuration required for Paper type and Size attributes.
For EDDM products, the configuration of weight is different than for fixed-size products.
For EDDM products, the configuration of the items below is exactly as it is for fixed-size products:
EDDM products require additional configuration of attributes beyond what is required for normal products. In particular, for each "Paper type" you use in an EDDM product, you will need to configure the thickness of the material. For each Size you configure, you will need to explicitly configure the size.
In order to perform this extra configuration, you should edit the item inside the attribute and configure the values in the fields shown below:
As with all products, for each combination of Size and Paper Type configured for the product, you will need to configure the weight. However, in the case of EDDM products, you need to configure the weight, measured in ounces, of exactly 1 postcard. The field "Base Quantity" for EDDM products is fixed at 1 unit.
The image below shows the configuration of the weight of 1 postcard for 4 combinations of Size and Paper Type:
With ordinary book products, your customer will see fields where he can select the size of the product and then then enter page counts for the number of pages in each book. A common problem is that customers enters incorrect page counts. This can occur if the customer does not know the accurate page count of his files or because the customer seeks to get a lower price by under-counting the pages.
In order to prevent the problem of inaccurate page counts, wp2print offers an autodetection function. With autodetection, the customer drags the files he wants to print into the web page. wp2print opens each of the files and counts the number of pages in the files.
The two videos below illustrate how your customer interacts with wp2print to submit his files and receive the price quotation. The . The video on the left illustrates a product where all pages are charged at the same rate.
This video illustrates a product where the count of B/W pages is counted separately from Color pages:
This video illustrates a product where the total page count is calculated regardless of whether each page is B/W pages or Color. This would be appropriate where you charge the same amount per page regardless of whether a page is B/W or Color:
Sticker products are a variant of Area products. Because of the way sticker are manufactured, there may be times where all stickers that fall into a certain range of areas will have the same price. For example, you may want to charge the same amount for a sticker with dimensions 1" x 2" as you do for a sticker 1" x 3".
With the Sticker product in wp2print, you will define a number area ranges in the Printing Attribute configuration tab. These same area ranges will then appear in the price matrix.
In the price calculator displayed to the customer, your customer will see 2 fields for entering the dimensions of the sticker. When the customer configured the dimensions of the sticker, wp2print will calculate the area of the sticker and then use the price data in the price matrix row matching the area range for price calculations.
The image below illustrates the configuration of area ranges in the Printing Attribute configuration tab:
